This trip divided into 4 parts.

  1. Part 1: Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) to NongKhai (Thailand)
  2. Part 2: Vientien (Laos) to Luang Prabang (Laos)
  3. Part 3: Luang Prabang (Laos) to Laksao (Laos)
  4. Part 4: Laksao (Laos) thru Cambodia to Saigon (Vietnam)

Day 5: BKK to Vientien

Today I will leave BKK to ride to Laos.

Early morning, my friend showed up and led me to breakfast place:

Looked like not a light breakfast:

Said good bye to my great friend, straight to Laos:

Amazon cafe is very familiar place in Thailand. It’s always there at the corner of any large gas station. Good place to have a rest after refueling your motorcycle. They provided coffee, of course, some snack, biscuits, cookies, etc… They have wifi as well 🙂

Not even half way for the day:

Nice spot along the way. Not sure it is private building or not:

In case you want to know where it is:

What is it:

So straight hwy toward Khon Kaen:

Another great milestone:

I got the info that my friends are riding all the way from Saigon – Vietnam and will met me in Vientien. What a nice receiving. Closer to the Thai-Laos border:

Oh, they have Vietnamese roadsign in Thailand?!

Nong Khai is just not too far away:

It’s the Nong Khai border gate:

Checking out of Thailand was really quick

Leaving Thailand behind, thank you so much for Thai hospitality, nice roads, beautiful scenery and awesome food, plus Chang and Shingha beers 🙂 Will come back very soon!

I am on the friendship bridge between Thailand and Laos, and this is to end my first Leg of Long Way Home trip, Kuala Lumpur to Vientien.

See you on my second leg, VienTien to Luang Prabang 🙂

To be Continued….
